In a world grappling with the escalating effects of climate change, the need for proactive and community driven responses has never been more urgent. Recognizing this imperative, SELL Foundation Nigeria went on a learning visit to Bakin Dutse as a means to empower its volunteers to become agents of resilience, equipped with knowledge and skills to adopt and thrive in the face of environmental challenges.
Bakin Dutse Forest Reserved is located at Kuri village, situated about 12 kilometres North of Jalingo-Bali Road. The forest is gazetted with vegetation of Sudan Savannah, which has over 40 species of trees which include African grape, black wood, Oak, Locust bean, false locust among others.
The visit to Bakin Dutse aimed to empower SELL delegates at the AGR to become agents of climate resilience which marked a bold step towards building local capacities and fostering sustainable solutions to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
