SELL CONDUCTS MAPPING OF SERVICE PROVIDERS/ENVIRONMENTAL RISK ASSESSMENT IN JALINGO, TARABA STATE
To strengthen community safety and resilience, SELL conducted a community mapping of service providers on Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Environmental risk assessment in Doruwa, Jalingo, and Taraba State.


The exercise aimed at identifying gaps and ensuring a more effective, accessible and coordinated network.
Speaking during the event, Mr Beji Jibe the programmes manager, SELL Foundation Nigeria welcomed the participants to the event and commends all the service providers present for their efforts in ensuring they safeguard the vulnerable and survivors of all forms of abuse as well as promoting care for the environment. He also highlighted that through this initiative, SELL Nigeria in collaboration with other like minds organizations/government agencies in Taraba state shall continue to push for inclusive policies that can create pathways to safety and sustainability.
The activity brought together participants from different service agencies which includes, International Federation of Women lawyers (FIDA), Security agencies, Civil society Organizations, Human Rights Commission, Social Welfare department among others.
SAFEGUARDING OUR ENVIRONMENT THROUGH POLICY DIALOGUE: SELL ORGANISES A STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENT
SELL foundation Nigeria has again hosted a stakeholders’ engagement on sustainable environment in Taraba State, marking another significant milestone in promoting a united, multi-sectoral efforts in shaping a greener future for the State.


The event held at the ACReSAL office brought together participants from different environmental sectors (private and government) within Taraba State.
During the event, participants emphasized the need for enhanced sustainable practices, strong environmental regulations and unified collective actions to combat pressing challenges like pollution, deforestation and climate change.
Mr. Julius Mimba Deputy director at the Taraba State ministry of Environment and Climate change applauded SELL foundation’s consistent initiative that has helped the state’s ministry of environment, through the Honourable Commissioner to develop a comprehensive draft of a policy on Environment which is now awaiting final validation and is slated for public release in the first quarter of 2026.
Speaking at the engagement, Mr. Beji Jibe, SELL program manager reinforced that the engagement is part of SELL foundation’s efforts to driving policy change and grassroots actions. “The time to act is now. Together, we can safeguard our environment for generations to come.”


Commitments already started turning into action as one of the participants, Mr. Muhammad Sadisu Haruna pledged to continue mobilizing stakeholders and monitoring tree seedlings distributed and planted by the foundation to ensure accountability and responsibility.
The event also featured the sharing of success stories from SELL SITUATION ROOM ON ENVIRONMENT, a forum established as a fall out of the 2024 engagement. Individuals and groups shared tangible steps they’ve taken to promote and protect our local environment, a testament to the lasting impact of collaborative dialogue.
The engagement concluded on a symbolic and hopeful note, with the distribution of tree seedlings.
Participants made personal commitments to nurture these trees, a living representation of our shared commitment to grow sustainability in Taraba.
