SELL FOUNDATION STRENGTHENS ADVOCACY FOR GENDER EQUITY AND COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT IN JALINGO

As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting gender equity and inclusive community development, the Sharing Education and Learning for Life (SELL) Foundation embarked on a strategic advocacy mission in Jalingo, Taraba State, on December 1st and 2nd, 2025.

The SELL team engaged with key women-focused organizations, including the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), and the Women Vocational Training Centre.

These visits were designed to build rapport, explore collaborative opportunities, and align efforts toward empowering women, strengthening economic resilience, and safeguarding the rights of children and vulnerable adults.

Discussions centered on joint initiatives that would harness the collective strengths of these organizations to drive sustainable social change. The partners expressed enthusiasm for working with SELL to co-create impactful programs that uplift communities and promote dignity, inclusion, and protection for all.

In addition to women-led groups, SELL also visited other influential stakeholders such as the Council for Interreligious Affairs (CIA) and National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (NACOMYO), reinforcing its commitment to interfaith dialogue and inclusive advocacy.

SELL TEAM VISITs FSTC, JALINGO

As part of our ongoing efforts empowering students with life changing skills, and promoting care for the environment, SELL team visited Federal Technical Science College, Sabongari Jalingo.

The visit which was led by the Jalingo SELL team aimed at evaluating the impact of the program, review outcomes and explore ways to deepen partnership.

For awhile the Jalingo SELL team have been in partnership with the school where they facilitate workshops for students on different thematic areas and also planted trees in the compound as part of SELL efforts towards environmental sustainability. This visit serves as means of strengthening the already established relationship between SELL and the School.

The Vice principal academic who received the team praised the initiative, noting the workshops increased student’s engagement and renew sense of purpose. He added that the program has a significant impact, and they look forward to more impactful programs.

Mr Ezekiel a staff in the school who also happens to be the focal person welcomed the SELL team on behalf of the students who are on holiday. He highlighted how impactful the program is to the students and also applauded the SELL team for trees planted in the school environment.

Mr. Kini Emmanuel, Jalingo Animator also appreciated the school management for accepting SELL program and retraited SELL commitment towards empowering young minds and promoting environmental sustainability. He added that the team will continue to support the staff to inspire the students becomes agents of change.
