In a bid to further community participation in the promotion of the protection of the Rights of Children, Prevention of Gender Based Violence and the promotion of peaceful coexistence in Pankshin community, SELL foundation held a two days review workshop with key stakeholders in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The goal is to review SELL foundation’s intervention in the community in the areas of Child Safeguarding and Protection, Prevention of Gender Based Violence through Gender Reconciliation, and the promotion of peace through conflict mitigation and resolution. This is with the view to share our experiences with key state and non-state actors who have stakes in the Community and to chart a way forward for the sustainability of the programme in the Community.

The Review workshop climaxed with a stakeholders’ engagement where the Local Government authority, traditional leaders, Religious leaders, youth groups and security agencies participated. Participants at the stakeholders engagement include the Deputy Chairman of Pankshin Local Government Council represented by the Director of Social Welfare Services, Divisional Police Officer Pankshin Police Division, Ngolong Vel/Maaji Pankshin Represented by the Madaki of Vel.

Other stakeholders include Pankshin branch representatives of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI), Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Plateau Youth Council (PYC), Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Staff of Social Welfare Unit, and SELL community Volunteers in Pankshin.
