We live in a world where violence against women is persistent as a result of stigma, shame and silence. The battle to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls remain a challenge around the globe. Since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, reports indicate increase in the cases of violence against women in many countries. (https://www.un.org). This year’s International Day for the Eradication of violence against women is apt given that it coincides with our training in SELL Foundation on Countering Violence Extremism/Conflict Resolution for Civil Society Organizations, Youth/Religious groups and Security agencies.
As the world celebrates International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women, we are all called to unite, break the culture of silence and end the violence against women, keeping quite reinforces the perpetrators and victimizes the victim. Let us speak out!
