SELL TRAINED VOLUNTEERS/WOMEN ON POLICIES AFFECTING SAFEGUARDING AND GENDER BASED VIOLENCE, ALTERNATIVE SOURCE OF COOKING, ANIMAL REARING/PRODUCTION
Sharing Education and Learning for Life Foundation (SELL) trained its volunteers and selected Women on policies affecting safeguarding and Gender Based Violence, Animal rearing/production in Pankshin Local Government of Plateau State.
The training which took place at Holy Cross Cathedral Hall aimed at empowering the SELL volunteers with the necessary skills on the above relevant policies and the Women with different source of cooking energy. The training brought together participants from different Wards, Security agencies, Religious bodies, Nigerian Bar Association (Pankshin branch) and other relevant Government Agencies.
The training took place from the 9th-10th November, 2022. The highlight of the training was the advocacy visits to government agencies/institutions, Religious bodies among others which preceded the training.
SELL EMPOWERS VOLUNTEERS, DISTRIBUTES SOLAR LAMPS, PLANTS (TREES), WASTE BINS/LIVESTOCK IN PANKSHIN, PLATEAU STATE
As a way of empowering the SELL volunteers and promoting care for the Environment, SELL Foundation Nigeria through the support of its donors, supported selected SELL volunteers with pairs of livestock (goats) as a means of helping to improve their livelihood opportunities. Similarly, in line with our efforts to maintain safe environment for all, some economic trees, waste bins, and solar lamps were also distributed to selected SELL beneficiaries, institutions, religious/traditional groups and Schools in Pankshin Local Government of Plateau State.
Among the items distributed are: Donation of waste bins in three (3) schools and two religious centers and the distribution/planting of two hundred (200) tree seedlings in selected schools, offices, households and other public facilities to help address climate change. In addition, solar lamps were distributed to selected households and two Security formations (Nigerian Police Force and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria).
