The training which took place at the Youth Formation Centre, Bauchi  from the 24th to 26th November, 2020was designed to empower participants with effective strategies to prevent and  counter violent extremism.

The training first began with recollection of past scenarios as well previous trainings which gave participants the opportunity to reflect back on the past training and bring out the areas of strength and its impacts.

Participants during group exercise

During the course of the training, participants reflected on the proliferation of pockets of radicalized groups springing out of the communities as a result of bad governance, unemployment, corruption, poverty, social inequality and adulterated religious teachings which have made it easier for the extremist groups to keep recruiting and radicalizing their followers especially the young people.

The training also provides us with the opportunity to converse with participants on the issues of climate change as well as care for the earth. The training had participants drawn from Gombe, Tafawa Balewa, and Bauchi.
