We are here to update on recent happening in SELL Foundation. Stay tuned and enjoy:

November 11th was a remarkable day in SELL Foundation, Nigeria as she welcomed an important visitor; in the person of Fr. Cathal Moriaty CLT member of SPS, based in Kenya, (Representative of SPS, one of our major founders). His visit was in view of Strengthening SPS Partnership with SELL. He also encouraged the foundation to carry on the good work of touching the lives of Youths.  This meant that, SPS have recognized the significance of SELL Programme as an essential ministry to the Young People of Nigeria.

In Furtherance of Sharing Education and Learning for Life, the Foundation desires to reach out to her target group. SELL mapped out the month of November for stakeholders meetings which was kick-started by the meeting with the 7 Community Team Leaders. These are representatives of Youths from six states of North East and Plateau state of Nigeria. The intention of the meeting was to discuss and evaluate the progress, challenges, and prospects of SELL programme as well as planning for the implementation of SELL Programme in the coming year.

In the same vein, SELL hosted 7 Youths’ Chaplains from the Jos Ecclesiastical Province at the Youth Formation Centre Bauchi on the 22nd November, 2016. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the strategic plan of the Foundation for the next three years; to evaluate the impact of SELL Programme in their Communities as a means of devising new approaches to enhance effective implementation of SELL Programme in the future.

The Meetings with the stakeholders would not have been complete without reaching out to the Youth Leaders themselves (Catholic Youth Organization Leaders in North –East, Nigeria). These are the direct beneficiaries of the Programme.  The Leaders converged at the Office of the Foundation on the 24th November, 2016. At this point, the focus of the discussions was to look at the relationship between the Youths and SELL Family, as well as deliberating on their various areas of needs so as to respond to these needs appropriately with the objective of bringing about positive change in their Communities.

In order to keep our progress of work track, regular meetings are conducted where the Foundation shares her new developments, which is coupled with a constant update to her stakeholders on how well the project has progressed and at the same time update them on the things or needs that require their attention. These meetings are in turn integral to the organization since it helps her to carry the ideas of her stakeholders on board through the various discussions and interaction that take place.

On a sad note, on the 27th November, we lost our beloved priest of the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Amos Nyangu.  With a heartfelt sympathy, the Board of Trustees and the entire staff of Sharing Education and Learning for Life Foundation express our condolences to the Administrator, Priests, Religious, and Laity of the Catholic Diocese of Bauchi over his demise. May his good work here on earth be crowned with life everlasting in God’s Kingdom. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in Peace. Amen!
